MG Midget and Sprite Technical - 1098 engine nr id
Hi As some might know i'm looking for a new midget. And from a seller i've goten an engine nr I can't decifer it should be a 1098 nr is 8G162RM44057 can it be a rebuilt or gold seal unit? |

yes that's a BL rebuilt part number, either goldseal or silverseal. |

Page 59 of Horler: Goldseal replacements of the 9CG type had prefixes of 8G16 (high compression) and 8G17 (low compression) So yes Goldseal, yes high compression but its a 948:-( |
