MG Midget and Sprite Technical - 1275 carb question
Hi Having problems with my midget with very lumping running, missing and no power. First went through the full ignition system with no improvement. So I then wondered about the carbs. Checking the float chamber there was some rubbish at the bottom which I cleaned out. I then went on to strip the carbs removing the top housing and wa surprised to find 2 springs together on top of the needle assembly. Is this normal or should I take one out? Thanks, Ian |

There should only be one. I would get two new springs (one for each carb) and replace them both then tune the carbs. Dave |

With engine running spray WD 40 around all the joints. Should the engine speed increase as you spray it, it would indicate a leak. The main are of concern is around the inlet manifold face to the engine, or at the butterfly spindle on the carb. |
