MG Midget and Sprite Technical - 1275 King Pin Reamer
I have a Churchill 18G 1006A used once many years ago. A little pitting on some surfaces, but shouldn't affect it's use - see photo. If interested in making me an offer, email me, but suggest you call by to view. Also have two brand new boxed king pins - part no 8G 4220.

I may be interested in the reamer - - - or is it reamers, looks like 2 in the photo. And possibly the king pins too. Are they for disk or drum braked cars? Don't have your e-mail address though. mine is nameDOTnameATtiscaliDOTcoDOTug Guy |

A Whale. If there are two, Guy will (I hope) only need one of them.... I may be interested in the other as mine (ex Moss) is not sharp...! Mark. |

Mark, Correct, I only want one! Actually, it would be good if tools like this which most of us may only need to use at lengthy intervals of time could be held by one of the clubs - dare I say MASC - for hire or loaning out to members. Perhaps the complications of administering such an arrangement might be too difficult or costly. Guy PS, Mr Whale, I haven't heard from you yet, possibly because I mis-typed my e-mail address which should of course end in DOTuk, not DOTug, which would presumably be Uganda! |
Guy Weller |
I think that the hiring of such a tool is asking for trouble. Reamers along with many other tools are not forgiving to abuse or mis-use and as such, I fear that their life may be short. The one I bought from Moss three or four years ago has lost it's edge very quickly and although I can still use it, I feel that a replacement is now needed. I will however ream bushes for Club members (that is any of the five Spridget 50 clubs) for a small consideration as long as I don't have to worry about shipping here and there.... Mark. |
Mark T. Boldry |
Yes I guess you are right about the reamer. And most other "once in a blue moon" tools that I can think of are probably too heavy to send between members at a reasonable postage cost. Still not heard from Mr Whale though. Guy |

I have drooled over this tool for a while now. If it's only going to lose its edge in 3 years I am not so sure. What is the proper care and feeding of these beasts? Is there a better place to get one from than moss? |

Mark, if you'd like to bring your reamer to Cotteridge in November I will gently breathe upon its leading edges to see whether we can get you a few more "reamings" out of it before the scrapmetal dealer has another win. Probably yet another victim of "Things(metals) aint what they used to be" Cliches aren't always bu***hit after all... Get it back to you at the end of the month in Cambs. (or scrap it if it is a dead 'un if you like) good idea if you and Guy take up the ones offered here too! |
Bill |
Thanks Bill, I would like to take you up on that. I'll try to remember to bring it along...! Mark. |
Mark T. Boldry |
Thanks for the interest...... There is only one reamer and it was purchased for a 1974 1275 midget, chrome bumpers. I believe that they sell for approx £150 new. This was used once, but gained some pitting while in storage - hence the two photos. I would accept £70 but suggest that you physically see it before purchasing. If you wish you can contact me direct at ajwhale@virgin.net |
Andrew Whale |
Golly. |
Nick |
Yes, golly-gosh. Sorry Andrew, I don't think I can stretch to that price. I hadn't realised that they cost so much new either! Maybe you can do a deal with Big Bad Boldry. Guy |
Guy Weller |
No, at that price, I'll give it a miss for the time being thanks. Bill has offered to try to put an edge back on mine, so fingers crossed.... Mark. |
