MG Midget and Sprite Technical - 1500 rear brake backplates
Hi Are 1500 midget rear brake backplates different from 1098/1275 cars? I had a rough idea that the wheel cylinder mounting pin hole might in a different location, but may have got that wrong like many other things as have never knowingly seen a 1500 rear backplate. Thinking this about when rooting through the garage yesterday (use of the word 'rooting' in a UK not Australian context!) looking at backplates for 948 and 1098/1275 cars and 8 inch Wolsley. Mike, yes they are, I'm not sure of the differences, pretty sure (think) you're right about cylinder hole offset, I may be imaging this but I thought there might be the part number (BTA???) on the earlier ones. I did have to check the part number of 1500s to be sure. |
