MG Midget and Sprite Technical - 1500 Strom quirks
Just sent this email off to sucarbs dot com and wondered if anyone here has experience with this stuff............ Dana, Have a 79 midget just out of 5 years storage. Choke seems to stick closed after a week or 2 in the garage runs rough, black smoke, let it sit for 20 minutes restarts and runs fine Also occasional exhaust pop shifting gears 1500, Stromburg, all stock, heater valve off, oil in pot Do you have a kit for this, advice to correct, or does it need to go to Kansas after the season? Thanks Bob |

It's not that difficult to remove and clean the choke assembly on a Stromberg. Unlike the SU carbs, the choke on the ZS consists of a needle valve with a tiny little O-ring near the tip. That O-ring can deteriorate over the years, but it's pretty simple to replace. If you get a rebuild kit for the ZS, there should be one in the baggie. -:G:- |

Thanks Gryf, picked up a pile of info on the boards, does seem pretty straight forward. Bob |
