MG Midget and Sprite Technical - 1500 throttle link rod clip
happily driving along testing my new brakes (need bleeding again!) when the accelerator pedal suddenly went slack. I checked and found the rod that links the throttle to the carburettor (number 46 in the attached from moss) http://www.moss-europe.co.uk/shop-by-model/mg/midget/fuel-system-induction-controls/engine-controls/engine-controls-emission-1275-1500cc.html had come out of where it attached to the carburettor.. It had a clip on it, I put the linkage back and put the clip on but it all seems a bit feeble - could someone show a photo of what it should look like please - is there something (split pin?) that retains the clip in place? Standard 1500midget, twin SU carbs. thanks |

yes great thanks - I can see that the clip actually clips onto the shaft of the rod - that was the bit of information I was missing. Would post a photo but mines nowhere near as clean and shiny as yours! tim |
