MG Midget and Sprite Technical - altenators

I was told that the altenator from a later model MGB puts out more amperage than that of a midget. I thought they were the same. Not being too conversed in the MGB, does anyone know if the MGB alternator puts out more than a Midget altenator?

Yes it does and if my memory serves me correctly the last Midgets has a bigger alternator than earlier versions.

that said the earlier smaller ampage alternators were well big enough for the Midget requirement!
