MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Armature sundries
I could buy a NOS C 40 dynamo armature for my toasted one on E-bay. It was toasted for several reasons: Corroded screw connector on the control box Bigger demand (headlamp relay’s and 2,5 mm2 wiring) High RPM during hours Lat but not least, the open ring on the pulley side of the armature was gone (photo). I suppose that too much torque on the pulley nut forced the open ring out of its grove. So the armature scuffled against the dynamo and several wirings were interrupted. Question: Is the open ring in the armature enough to withstand the torque of the pulley nut? Or do I need another closed ring over the open one to prevent it to be pushed out of its groove? Flip |
