MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Bleeding Clutch Resolution

Started to lose the clutch half way through a classic rally so replaced both slave and master cylinders.Used site wisdom to slot the slave and as a remote bleeder was fitted bled it in a jiffy......feeling smug.Did two more rallies and then the begger went completely, not quite so smug! Faffed about a lot in the footwell trying to nip up the joint between the bleeder and the slave....where it was leaking. Then discovered ,after too long in the foot well, that the end of the cunifer pipe had been sheared. This was probably due to vibration/work hardening. Luckily a friend with a garage, and a strong interest in Buckler cars, made me a new length of pipe so back to the footwell.....
After a number of hours getting the connection seated and trying all of the methods to bleed the bleeding slave I had to admit defeat and call on my garage friend for assistance. His mechanic came to the car and sorted it in two minutes! The key was to bleed the bleeding master cylinder as there was air trapped at the back of it.The air came out when he cracked the joint and applied pressure back through the system and I had a pedal once more.I just never fought that any air would be innate master and concentrated on the slave.....hope this may help others who cannot get a firm pedal.

PS Was going to add a pic of Myrtle in action but it does not seem possible using a tablet?

Think I have managed to upload a pic.....via the laptop. And fought is thought although I did fight....bleeding spill chuckers.

If I am correct in which pipe was the problem, using a rear axle flex hose up to the new bleeder would eliminate the stress problem.
J Bubela

J Bublea, you are correct, I think that would be the best answer and the commercial kits do have a flexible hose.
On a bit of a tangent.....In once visited a chap in Conneticut who had a large back yard/field which was overgrown and had lots of old cars lurking in the undergrowth. His clever answer to potential vagabonds was to have a wire rope strung high across the diagonal of the yard, with a 20ft chain attached to the wire and a large aggressive Alsatian dog attached to the chain!
Is was a long time ago and I cannot remember exactly where it was but I though it was a great idea.
