MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Clutch cable on Twin bore M/C?

I have fitted a five speed Type 9 gearbox to my 1964 Mk11 midget with the twin bore master cylinder and am using a clutch cable.
Need advice on how to fit the eye of the clutch cable to the pedal. A photo would be useful.
Thanks,
Neil

there might be a simple workaround, but then again it might be easier to switch to the late pedal box

Take a look at what I did. Cut a slot to allow the cable in without touching pdeal box; drilled a hole below cable to take a bolt/2-lock-nuts to provide the pedal end-stop. I used a split pin for final assembly, BTW. All done with the pedal box in situ, as I was in a real hurry to get the job done...

(The rust you can see is metal from grinding op, BTW!)

Then made up a pin by drilling a split-pin hole through a bolt, before filing the bolt thread same dia as clutch eye; filing a nut to be thinner; and fitting as you can see. Cable's done 15K miles with no sign of fretting.

2nd pic.

BTW - all of this took maybe 3 hours? Was going for a working system rather than 'concours'...

Sorry the pic is blurred; look OK in camera at time...

... oh yes, and switch to later box or later brake Mcyl as DS suggests...

Thanks all. Wanted to keep my original master clinder and so have created this. Any views?

The pull on the cable must be straight, i.e. if the cable to bullet joint is not exactly aligned as the clutch is depressed, then this joint will fret and fail quickly. Other than that, looks fine to me...

Thanks Anthony. I'll make some adjustments.

PS It was nice pressing the clutch pedal and knowing the clutch was working. Little things please little.....

Have you tried putting in gear to see if the clutch is fully releasing?

I only worked that out the first time I had the engine running and tried to select reverse

Good point Alex. I will try that now. By the way I have had a look for Al Charles. Can't find you. Any clues?
