MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Clutch problem

Hi,

I have been restoring a 1978 MG midget 1500, I recently had a problem with the clutch, after ordering the new clutch for my model the diameter of it is bigger than the old one. I was wondering if I changed the flywheel back to the original would it suit the starter that is in it. Would that be okay?

Any help in this would be much appreciated on what to do or any ideas on problems I might face would be great.
