MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Clutch Slave

I have just discovered the my clutch master cylinder and the slave cylinder are knackered beyond repair.. I beleive I have an A+ engine fitted to my car. On removal of the slave cylinder I noticed that the pushrod has been shortened 55mm to hole centre, is this common for the A+ conversion or is it pointing to a more sinister problem?????

Thanks Ian

Ian - do you mean it's been shortened by 55mm, or it measures 55mm from hole centre to end?

Which bits of your engine and gearbox and hydraulics are A+?

Nick
It measures 55mm from hole centre to end.
That I dont know because it was already fitted to the car when I bought it ,the slave looks like a 1275 one but I am not 100% on this master cylinder is deff 1275 standard I think it has the original gearbox for the car aswell

I Think It is an A+ unit because it has the upsidedown oil filter just above the dizzy it is also running the 25D dizzy but I think this is possible

Doesn't the A+ engine have a slightly longer crankshaft? This being the case, the flywheel & clutch would sit further back in the bellhousing thus requiring a shorter push rod.
