MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Clutch slave bleeding
A regular question on this forum concerns the difficulties when bleeding the clutch slave cylinder. However, a letter in the latest MGOC magazine referring to a MGC may also be applicable to Spridgets. I have not tried this personally but thought the suggestion may be useful. This is the suggested process: Remove the slave cylinder and resting it on a jar with the bleed nipple inclined and slightly open, slowly gravity fill the system. When all the air is expelled, close the nipple. Refit the cylinder [not an easy task due to limited access to the bolt] to complete the job. Remember to leave sufficient room in the master cylinder for the fluid that is displaced when refitting the push rod. HTH |
