MG Midget and Sprite Technical - cockpit trim

A couple of years ago I thought I had picked up a bargain rear cockpit rail for my Mk2 66 midget. Now I have eventually come to try it it doesn't quite fit. No longer a bargain ! The profile seems slightly out and the ends that come towards the doors seem a little long. Could it be from a Mk1 are they different?
