MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Confusing Clutch Issue

So I posted the fact that my clutch seem to of given up the ghost and the general consensus was the release bearing had gone and crumbled away.

On checking underneath the clutch fork would just wobble in the wind.

We had a local show recently to which my wife went in the sprite and I said I would join her as soon as I had finished some diy jobs and the consensus was I would join her and 'limp' the midget to it.

I pulled the car out of the garage and yes the clutch was light however it was working and I could change gears - Much surprise on my part, driving down the road it was working fine, I'm concerned that it might just stop working for no apparent reasons or was it just a 'glitch' and I shouldn't be too concerned.

Shaun,
where was the bite point on the clutch? on the floor or up the top?
Brad (Sprite IV 1380)

I would say the bite is nearer the bottom - oh eer missus.

Sounds like its wear or a lot of slop then, you could try the usual nut under the slave arm rod if there is free play there, it may keep you going until the K conversion.
