MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Crash rail removal
I have to replace the crash rail on my 71 Mk111 midget. I know the dash has to be removed, is it easier to remove the steering column to lower the dash, without disconnecting all wires and tubes, or remove the dash completely? Any advice welcome Mike |

Disconnect the steering column from the rack, (put the wheel straight ahead first, for easy alignment), lower the column after removing the two securing bolts. Tie it up with string around the wheel to the top of the windscreen, the wires to the ignition switch should be long enough to stay connected, but mark them first, in case you knock one off. |

You can lower the dash, without disconnecting anything. |
