MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Dics brake conversion spacer

I've been looking through the archives about a 9" disc brake conversion, which i reckon i could make DIY job. I already have new discs & B calipers in my garage left over from previous projects.
I can't find much information on the disc spacer in the acrhives though.
Is there anyone who could at least tell me the thickness required, as i'm working away from home on site at the moment & there is a multitude of Ali sheet in different thicknesses just asking for an offcut to be liberated!

Thanks

the spacers are about 2" thick, I can try to measure if you still are interested

That would be excellent if you could. An OD/ID would be really helpful too as i have access to a lathe at the moment.
thanks

afraid I cant make those measurement with much accuracey

the inside matches the sholder on the hub (or the inside of the original disk) the outside is big enough so it can take bolt threads
Will Munns

Thanks thats a start anyway,

Before this thread slides off the current list, is there anyone else who can help?

Hi Will,

did you manage to measure the thickness?
If you could measure the O/D with some string i can work out the diameter & what needs to be machined,

making it yourself is a whole lot cheaper then buying it at mini maina...ouch!!!! $160 each

But they do have a nice tech artical that gives some nice insight on the spacer....go to the botton of the page where it says tech info and clik, if you use red tech artical button on the right side it wont work.

I think this is going to be my winter project...get past the spacers and its not a vary expensive upgrade...$150 for MGB calipers, $100 for drilled sloted high performance triumph spitfire rotors, $75 for mgb green stuff pads....the spacers,,,,odds and ends, mmmmmm $400 - $600

Thanks Will,

thats a great help, i'll get busy on the lathe & knock them up in work time :-)

Prop,
thanks for the link, it's a lot clearer than the smudged photo copy version i managed to lay my hands on.

Here's a quick diagram i've knocked up in case anyone is interested, no dimensions for the fixing holes yet, but they should be easy enough to spot through.

these were all rough numbers, you'll probly have to measure the mating parts in greater detail
