MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Ehaust
Hi Anyone know where to get a 45mm RC40 single box system now that Magic midget no longer supply them (oh, and an "x"!) Thanks |

If you don't mind spending a day being creative you can get a downpipe and RC 40 from Minispares for a Mini and get a fit. No welding or bending necessary, just a few cuts in the right place. Cost back in April was less than 55 quid including VAT and delivery. For this they even sent a stainless system - I guess they'd run out of mild steel ones, so I was pretty happy with the outcome. |

That's interesting. Do you have any drawings or photos please? Thanks |

Composite to illustrate the layout. You could use a straight piece of tube in lieu of the Minispares downpipe to stop the tailpipe exiting at a slight angle. But this works out OK.

Receipt from Minispares. Actually £52 and delivered within a couple of days - good result.

I have a minispares RC40 on mine. I can take some pictures this weekend if anyone wants? Need to fix some handbrake linkage issues so will have the back up in the air. |

That's a nice looking frogeye! I have a similar setup on my Midget. LCB Manifold, 2" straight pipe to just under back axle, then just a slight kick up (thanks Dave B and his oxy torch) to allow the oval RC40 to sit flat under the floor between spring and fuel tank, tailpipe then exits at 45deg angle towards kerb. |
