MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Engine Bay - Teardrop feature?
A seemingly strange question, but does anyone know what the teardrop 'dent' / 'swage' was / is for as I have often looked at this very deliberate feature - but it serves no apparent function in my RWA midget? T'Internet photo |

Do you mean the heater fan? It's the only thing I have seen from the earlier cars? Cheers |

Sorry lots of posts all at the same time It seems it is for the early heater blower, just wondered as I have just fitted a new panel which contains the feature Cheers Spencer |

Maybe it was never omited beause retooling would have been more expensive? |

my '67 has most of its original body and yes: it's for the heater fan box |

Is this a std early heater fan? As it seems a good distance from the 'teardrop' for it to be needed for clearance? Sorry, not doubting any of your comments, just trying to understand... |

That's a "whutzdis" dent. Installed so future Spridget people would be asking the question. |
