I think MG and Austin Healey Sprite have different greens. I know the MG colour as MOWOG Green though it might have a real name. Healeys have a lighter green, not sure of it's name. Later MG midgets were Black. Anyone got any definitive info for marque/year colours? Rob |

Rob, I think your on track, of course there is the BMC rebuilt gold and silvers... but thats another paint debate Did they paint the transmissions the same as the engines... on my usa spec 1971, the engine and trans where non painted when I got mine... Im not sure what that means Prop |

I think it was British Standard Middle Bronze Green (BS 223) see those urls for the right colour codes: http://mk1-performance-conversions.co.uk/images_2/BS-381C.jpg see http://mk1-performance-conversions.co.uk/technical_engine_colour.htm |

Were some MG engines Red? MG Maroon comes to mind but that could be a character from Who framed Roger Rabbit? Rob |

MGAs and early MGBs used maroon. |
