MG Midget and Sprite Technical - engine stand
Can anybody recommend from personal experience a decent engine stand for a 1500 midget engine ? |

How about a Triumph Spitfire? I'll get my coat. Ian |

With such a small engine, any engine stand should be fine. I have a Clarke CES 500A from Machine Mart. This is perfectly adequate for a 3.9 Rover V8, so would easily cope with a Midget engine. I like the single front leg as this allows the splayed legs of the engine crane to go around the stand. On the type that have two front legs, it is difficult if not impossible to get the engine crane up close. |

Ive got the same china made one as mike but from harbor fraight, its good and strong, but I did replace the nuts and bolts that do the mounting , when I purchased it, they just looked to flimsy,,,but the stand is perfect....it just takes up valuable rare shop space Pmsl....ball, now that was funny Prop |

I made a small one for my 1275 to sit on the bench. You can borrow it if you like, it has a plate on the front which you can redrill to suit some suitable holes on the 1500 engine. Matt |
