MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Fixed Jet conversion for HS4
I understand that Hs4 twin carbs with waxstats on the midget 1500 have ADN needles fitted and ones fitted with fixed jets have ABT needles. My question is if i replaced the waxstats with a fixed jet conversion would i also need to replace the needles ? thanks |

They look exactly the same profile wise, but the ABT is slightly thinner throughout the whole rev range, presumably this is because the jet sits at a different height. http://www.mintylamb.co.uk/suneedle/ I reckon you could keep the same needles but you'd have to reset the jet height so the mixture was right on idle. |
