MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Fixed my lights with a Bic and a Beer
Yesterday my lights sudenly went dead, no headlights or tails. I had left them on in the afternoon for a half hour, then turned them off. Went I went out to take a ride last eavning nothing, nada. I pulled the switch and apparently it had gotten hot enough to form a dome in the back of the plastic part enough that the 3 terminals didn't make contact with the sliding brass plate in the switch. Solution: heat up the plastic switch case with a Bic lighter, push back of switch into shape so that contact is now made, temper warm plastic with a bit of the cold beer I was drinking. All fixed and ready to go. Phil"ordered spare switch 'in case'" |

Congratulations, Phil. Your degree in Engineering from Mickey Mouse University is in the mail. Amazing what can be done with a little thought and ingenuity. Have to keep these LBCs going. |
