MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Front wing differences
I seem to remember that there are two versions of a chrome bumper front wing with the position of the side light/indicator being different (one higher than the other). Can someone remind me of when the change occurred and can you define the difference e.g. hight from bottom of wing to light fitting? The reason iI'm asking is that I'mlooking to obtain a wing and want it to match the one I already have (and its difficult to tell from photos so any clue would help avoid a mistake). |

change was very close to the change from big half-round section to small square-section bumpers, late 69 I think. Measurements are in the archive... |

The change point was around 1969 IIRC, but was before the introduction of slim bumpers, curiously. Edit: started typing, then stopped to look for a photo and was beaten to it! |

Early Thick chrome bumper 50 mm from side light to headlight rim. Later Thin chrome bumper 80/85 mm from s/light to h/light rim. Before you buy a wing, ask the seller to take measurements. |
