MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Gas Tank Replacement
I'm changing the gas tank in my 71 midget. After removing the old one I went to Moss to look for a replacement. But the one I pulled out has a locking ring securing the sending unit. Moss shows that as "72 and on". Maybe is was replaced in the past with this style. Is that possible? Would that style fit a 71? I'm not sure which one to order. |

Yeah, it sure could be... sorry I cant directly answer the question Btw... check ebay, they got good tanks at very resonable prices... I got mine from there and I got one with extra capacity...its done very well Prop |

The tanks are interchangeable apart from early frog/ bugeye ones because the filler neck was part of the tank. However the sender units did change but if you already have the later sender and it works just order the later tank to match it. Hope it helps Dave |
