MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Gear lever gaiter for Type 9 gearbox.
Hi all, I need a gear lever gaiter for the Type 9 install in my Frog. I like the look of the midget 1500 setup but what have others devised? Rob |

I think mine was off a Citroen Saxo or possibly AX. Not very in keeping with a classic though! It's in first gear in the photo, it sits better in neutral. |

This looks nice too. Mine's just surrounded by carpet, but this looks better. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MGB-GT-68-80-GEAR-LEVER-RUBBER-GAITER-CHROME-SURROUND-FITTING-SCREWS-BHH2049-/281606554573?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item41910f03cd |

hi guys I have the mgb option on my 1500. I have cut a new hole for the gear lever as I have a standard type 9. I have found the mgb gaiter has split, 2nd one in 2 years. the rubber seems to be too hard I have the chrome trim as well...looks great.Do you have this problem Lawrence? rgds tony |

I like that Morris Minor one, think I'll order one and get rid of that French rubbish off my car! |

Morris one looks good . What's the base dimensions ? |

Hi Tony, No mine hasn't split. It's still perfect. Actually I don't know the original supplier, as it came with the T9 kit I bought at least 15 years ago. Thanks for the heads up on the poor rubber. i was thinking of buying a spare as mine is 'old' now. But if they're not that good, I'll hold off and buy the MM version when I actually need one. |

Here's my set-up using a Jaguar gaiter. Though, since this picture was taken, I've changed it slightly because the rubber was not dead centre when the lever was in neutral.

hi there clive it seems you have the same chrome retaining ring as I do but the gaiter looks more plastic than the ang one. mine is the ang type and it wont stretch up the lever as the mgoc one seems to. I have had two split on the first part of the concertina if you know what I mean I think I will try an mgoc one. |
