MG Midget and Sprite Technical - halogen headlights
good day all,--I've seen two types of halogen headlights lately for sale. One is a sealed unit which is completely removed and replaced when expired. The other is a conversion where the whole bucket is retro-fitted and new elements are fitted into the unit from the rear much like modern cars.Cost here is the issue with the conversion being over $100 US while the selfcontained unit around $14 US. Any thoughts out there,---Bob C |

I run the sealed beam halogens in my sprite, and the H4 conversions in my midget. No significant difference. However, with the conversion units you could upgrade the bulbs to higher wattage (available for "off-road" use only). Both my cars have the headlights switched via a relay. HTH |
