MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Handbrake pawl

Does anyone know whether the midget handbrake pawl is the same as an MGB one? Looking to change to a fly off handbrake, and I can get a fly off pawl designed for an mgb.

no need to change the pawl, just make a nifty little adaptor plate & turn the rod around to change the point where the effort from the button is applied. Well covered in period special tuning books.
very easy to do, we have done it to all our Midgets and the B. I haven't got diagrams to hand right now, but if you are stuck a friend of mine (contract at cratorcondotnetdotnz) will be able to help with one.

I researched factory parts books for MGB, MGA, A-H 3000 and Midget. Every pawl had a different part number and looked different in each illustration.

Thanks guys, I'm aware of how to make an adaptor to do it, I just thought that seeing as someone had made up nice replacement pawls at a very good price then if they fit I could save myself the effort. Adaptor plate it is then.

Cheers,

Andrew.

The pawl on the midget is different than the B. But basically, you can either have a huge batch of them manufactured and then sell them off, or you can try to fabricate one. use props link for inspiration, but not as a perfect guide.
