MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Hotels Washington DC to Boston
Hi Decidedly off-topic... for the USA contingent (or those with recent travel experience): My wife and sons are about to enbark on a tour of the east coast, starting in Washington DC, taking in New York (and points in between) and finally in Boston. Can anyone share ideas of what to see (outside the cities mentioned) and advise on hotels (you know, reasonably priced!) to stay, e.g. is there a useful hotel chain or two they might use? TIA Anthony |

Days Inn is usually pretty nice, clean and not awfully expensive - but - it's worth sticking a thread in the US events on at the top! Hope they have a great trip |

Ant, is that the same time that you throw a big party in Malvern with live music and midget-sprints in the frontgarden? :) |

Hi Arie That's the plan; although given the territory here, we'll call it a hillclimb. I'm laying the course out at the moment, and writing the regs - so far, they just say that the only cars eligible for the prize-winning class will be white, RWA Kseries Midgets; not too restrictive from my point of view. Entry fee is expect to be high. A |

"only cars eligible for the prize-winning class will be white, RWA Kseries Midgets" Sounds like the "Wedgewood pottery show and shine team" ;) "Entry fee is expect to be high." The only hight im worried about is the stairs I have to drive up to to even get to the frontgarden, can the organisation do something about that please? |

About midway between NYC and Boston is the small (!!!) village of Sturbridge, Mass. Old Sturbridge Village is a fun tour of early 1800's America with an olde general store, village green, weavers and spinners, an olde farm, etc. Costs to get in. If they are into walking, drive up the road behind and above the Village (Stallion Hill Road), left at the fork at the top of the hill, and continue about 3 miles or so. Park along the DIRT road and walk about in the beautiful New England woods. Go back far enough and you get to the Tantuisques Lead Mine (graphite) and Leadmine Lake. There are motels in the immediate area. |
