MG Midget and Sprite Technical - intermittent gear box rattle
There is an intermittent rattle from the gearbox. Half a second it is audible and half a second it is not there. Frequency is connected to speed, not to the gear or Motor RPM. Frequency is 1/ second at 100km/h. I suppose it has something to do with the exit of the gearbox or the speedometer cable. I topped up the gearbox oil. It did not work. What could it be? What is the next step? Flip |

Hi had a similar problem with my 1500 midget took the engine and gearbox out to fit a Ford type 9 and found the rattle had been caused by loose clutch plate springs |

I do have a diafragm clutch. And the rattle is not dependent on motor but on driving speed RPM Flip |
