MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Isuzu trooper starter for midget
Am looking for a high torque starter for my race midget and have been told that a Isuzu trooper 4 cyl starter will fit as its the right stud spacing and 9 teeth etc - any one advise if this is true? thanks |

There used to be starters used off Jap cars vehicles and that sounds familiar but sorry I can't say 100% if that model is correct or note. I use PowerLite but mine's strictly a road use car. There are a few racy types on here that might know. |

Out of the box it will work but the body work will have to be cut for it to fit. British Starters and Gustafan (sp) are two vendors over here. They machine a Trooper starter to have a rotating base to aline with several British cars. There are two different styles of starter for the Trooper. One smaller than the other. I don't have the part numbers available. I had cut the body on my old race car, but have since bought an adjustable one that fits right in. |

I had an Isuzu(Holden) Gemini starter in my Midget racer, but can't remember, I think it got a Gemini ring gear as well--can't remember, it was a teeth per inch issue I think, but it really helped wind it over with the higher compression Lot of help that was eh willy |
