MG Midget and Sprite Technical - K series new clutch fitted
Hi guys, just bought a K-series 1.6, it went like the clappers until I needed a new clutch fitted by a friend. Now we have no power to the interior clocks, wipers, horn, indicators etc. Car only running on 2 cylinders so even 30mph really difficult! What the heck has he done? Checked all fuses and all OK. HELP please, I am not a mechanic and looks as if he isn't either as he has since gone missing. I have checked as many cables as I can but not seeing anything disconnected. Car now won't start, just turns-over. |

You might be better posting this query on the Twin Cam 16v section. It is difficult to say what the problem is through your description alone. However it would appear to be an electrical connection problem. When I have had to remove my K series engine from my midget it involved the disconnecrtion of a number of sensors and electrical connections. The correct reconnections were essential for the car to run again. What ECU is being used? Is it a MEMS unit or Emerald? In any case you need to check every connection methodically. If you have limited electrical/mechanical knowledge you may be better getting someone local to have a look at it, preferably an auto electrician. I wired my own ECU in for my K series and so know it inside out. You are at a disadvantage in this respect. |

I would suggest Wilfie Patterson in Crossgar. Years of experience in Auto Spark and will turn the car aorund quickly. Good luck, I am building a K series for my dad currently so have all of this to look forward too. Will |
