MG Midget and Sprite Technical - K&N Fancy filter - any good ?
I'm sure somebody on here will have or had one of these, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/56-9057-K-N-CUSTOM-AIR-FILTER-KIT-FOR-SINGLE-TWIN-BARREL-CARBS-SPRITE-/311365332852?hash=item487ed1ef74:g:byIAAOSw8d9U2O4b Are they any good, I'm planning on a slightly modded 1275 engine - just a bit more power and better breathing than standard already got the Peter Burgess head, staying twin carb and a slightly lumpy cam and maybe roller rockers, just wondering if the ridiculous price is justifiable. K&N filters are the ones to have, but I wouldn't pay that much. I have a single HIF44 with a K&N cone filter, which as I recall was about £30. Make sure you have at least a stub stack inside to ensure smooth entry of air. |

They do work well and have a built-in radius, which helps. That does seem a bit pricey. Secondhand ones do come up for sale, sometimes. Welsh MG have a used one for £75 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MG-midget-K-N-FILTER-ASSEMBLY-/231783367767 You can wash the filter and re-oil it. |

Got one on my 1500, looks good, fits well and breathes really nicely. Good old carb roar! |
