MG Midget and Sprite Technical - LCB and fuel pump
I have fitted a Maniflow LCB to my 948 engine, however it looks very close to the fuel pump, see picture - what do you think? The more I look at it then the more I think it will probably be ok. Suppose I could always fit an electric pump but don't want to do this just at the moment as have plenty of other things to get done and not much time. Also, the manifold hits the breather pipe on the side cover, not a big deal as I can change over with the rear cover although the pipe needs modifying as it fouls the block near the water bleed - just a ball ache really. Finally, one more question. I want to connect the rocker cover breather (and possibly the side cover one as well) to an oil catch tank. Any ideas of what to use and where to locate it. Not really difficult to sort out but curious to what others have done. Thanks Les |

I would fit a Facet cube, then use the fuel pump hole for the breather to a catch tank. |

If you don’t have time left: aluminium foil worked against vapour lock. Brad's solution is better. Flip |

Im no engineer, but I like to play one on the net, but yeah thats an issue IMHO. definatly will need a heat sheild made from some aluminum ally, but as flip says foil is your friend for now. Prop |

worked perfectly for my 998 mini's like that for years with amazingly high under bonet temps so don't over think just drive if you then find you have a problem fix the problem don't go looking for solutions for problems that are not there something prop should do sometimes! ;) |
