MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Location of the fuel pump on my ’64 midget

Wayne M here and my question is where is the location of the fuel pump on my ’64 midget? Would it be underneath near the rear axle?

The car is a 1964 MG Midget with a single Weber 40 DCOE 149.

There is no fuel pump over near the starter.

Someone mounted a Dupree Model #12 V-801 pump but there are no hoses attached to the “IN” or the “OUT” side of the Dupree fuel pump. Nothing whatsoever leading to the Weber carb.

I am certain that the Dupree is a mechanical pump as there are no electric wires near the pump.

There is a fuel line attached to the Weber Carb with a small fuel filter mounted in-line and it flows directly into the Weber carb.

Maybe this type of Weber doesn’t need a fuel pump? Would this be possible?

HELP!!!!!!!!

of course the weber needs a fuel pump and a mechanical pump if one were fitted would need to be on the side of the engine and would be driven mechanically by the engine normally the camshaft.

If the weber is using the original electrical pump then it will be mounted above the rear axle between the wheels under the boot area. However I would expect that those people using a weber would most times fit an after market electrical pump, generally a Facet but I suspect the one you have was their attempt and have not wired it up, perhaps that it why they sold the car cos it doesn't run?
