MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Make, and source, of 145/13 tyres?

The refurb of my (January) 71 midget is now nearing its end thankfully. I'm trying to get the car as standard as possible, so am looking for some tyres of the "correct" size and height.

The car would've left the dealer with 145/13 Michelin ZXs. What height would tyres labelled 145/13 have been? Can anyone suggest a suitable brand (and source) of new 145/13 tyre to fit my car that would be the same height as the original? They would be going on standard mkI Rostyle wheels.

I've looked in the archive but can't see anything recent on the subject unfortunately

Hope that makes sense. All suggestions gratefully received!

My car has Firestone 'F-590's on it. This is a regular stock item at my local garage so I guess it's a fairly common size still.

I've currently got Toyos on my minilites (albeit in 165/70 for the wider rims) and have been very happy with them for general (spirited) road use.

E-Tyres list a few for 145/80 including the Toyo, Pirelli P3000 and a firestone. I used them to fit to my midget wheels (off the car) whilst at work and was quite happy.

My car had four Dunlop 145.80.R13 until the MOT man failed one, my local agent could not source any Dunlops in this size, but managed to get a Firestone.
So I guess it will end up with four Firestones eventually, when the remaining Dunlops wear out.

On a different twist to this thread,
my 1500 midget is fitted with Minator alloys on which is moulded the number J13.
The tyres fitted are 175 x 13. The P.O. has modified the wheel arches to accommodate these tyres exept that the nearside rear wing is a new replacement and hasn't been modified or flared and obviously comes into contact with the tyre when cornering.I have a similar problem on my other 1500 which has 165s on standard rostyles.
I would prefer to go back to narrower tyres rather than butchering wheel arches, so what would be the narrowest tyre to fit the alloy wheels?

165n on the minilites, thats what mine run on before the returm of the ROs.

As for the 145s, the new system labels them as J, and are available in either a 75 or 80 height.

I am running on Khumo Solus ..75s, thy look right, are really good value (£26 per corner) and are becoming std equipment on losts of new cars.)

Most companies do the size, but friendly local tyre suppliers are your best bet to get them, Kwik Fit only keep their own arroespeed as stock items (and they are awful!!)

I had a little trouble finding 145/13s for my Sprite here in the US of A to replace my old XZXs, and finally found Vredesteins. They seem to be really nice tires and look the part.
