MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Maniflow 4-2-1 header 1500 - throttle spring
Hi folks, decided to start fitting my Maniflow header tonight. As I was taking the carbs off I noticed the throttle return spring is anchored on the stock manifold joint (along with the air filter mount). So where do I reconnect this? There's nowhere on the new header for it. I've added a photo. Thanks!

Can you use a jubilee clip around one of the pipes? Either attach the spring to the jubilee clip, or use it to attach a bracket. |

I had a similar problem with my 1275 one - similar solution to Dave's suggestion, had a spare exhaust 'p' clip (I think from Maniflow with the exhaust system) which went around one of the pipes and added a small 90deg bracket drilled to take the return spring. Can take a pic if required. R. |

Jubilee clip and a longer spring worked fine on a Herald I once worked on. Same engine (1500 conversion) same exhaust(ish. Was the Spitfire one of course). |

That'll work! Thanks, I was thinking I'd have to weld the bracket on. Richard photo would be good if you get a chance. |
