MG Midget and Sprite Technical - mgb oil cooler on midget 1500
hi all. iv been given an oil cooler of an mgb.its only been used for a matter of months.it came with the hoses and the 10 row rad.my question is am i likly to come up against any problems with fitting it to a 77 midget 1500.also how would i fit it with out using the spin on sandwich plate. thanks . |

I've often wondered who buys the secondhand oil coolers that I see on Evil bay. When the engine on my race car went ballistic, the first thing I did was throw the oil cooler away! |

as i said its less than 2 months old so the chance of it being blocked or faulty is pretty much non exsistant.and its of someone that i know. all i wanted to know was if it would fit on my midget. |

Roy, see if it fits in the boxsection in front of the radiator. Thats where mine was on my 1500. There is a special(original?) bracket for it from Moss. I dont think i have a picture of it anymore. No oilcooler on the K (yet). |

Roy, You will need the sandwich plate, general opinion seems to be that it is a good mod to do on the 1500 but also you should be thinking about a thermostat as well, these are available as sepatate items or are incorporated into the sandwich plate. Alan 78 1500 |
