Andy Looks interesting :-) If you're a facebooker then the "K-Series midget and MGB" group would be very interested and/or the Kmidget.com forum Although both have a K Series focus there's plenty of interest/experience in other swaps and many of the challenges are the same of course :-) |

Wow Andy, that looks like fun! What rear axle are you using? (can't imagine the Midget rear axle even with unrated halfshaft would be hugely happy with the torque and power). There's someone on here that did a Rover V8 swap - wonder what they did. Thanks for keeping us updated. Cheers Mike |

Some of the K boys and girls are running std back axles, me included. I'm putting 120 bhp and 98 lbft through mine, quite savagely most of the time, and all ok so far.... |

If anyone is looking for Steel wheel half shafts, I have two going for free that are in good condition and only 50k miles on them. They can be taken up to the UK on a couple of weeks for collection or shipping at your cost from Southend |

Bit cold in the winter without a heater isn't it? |

Hi guys thanks for your comments so far. Prop - planning to use on the road Will have a look at Facebook and forum to get some ideas As for axle using an anglia 105, same width as midget one just needs brackets re welding with 3j Lad and halfshafts, halfshafts approx 50% bigger than midget . English type axle as per ford escort just shortened as pic attached with disc brake conversion. Jlh saw that at a show and loved it !! As for heater looks like I will have to wrap up :-) Thanks Andy |

Andy. If the axle hasn't already got a drain plug, drill and tap one in. I just did that to my 109E axle on my Consul Capri. I was going to use a pump to change oil when needed, but in the end, it's so much easier and quicker with a drain plug. |

Andy Good stuff happening there I used an Anglia housing and Billet axles in mine with an Escort 3.7 LSDcentre-----bulletproof Absolutely abused the thing for years without a problem Keep the pics coming, when you can-interesting project It always interests me that if 10 people built one of these they would all be different, It's always good to see what ideas people come up with cheers willy |

The early heater fits a treat. We are currently drawing up designs for an ally casing and uprated core to keep you nice and toasty warm. We have finalised the cold air feed and inline blower, which is now fitted to a 200bhp zetec Midget, will post a pic tomorrow. Meanwhile heres the demo set up (unfinished)

Andy Have you come across the Atlantis Midget, a Ford Crossflow engine and gearbox conversion in the 1970s? See: http://www.spridgetguru.com/Autocar052071.html & http://www.flickr.com/photos/79267312@N00/5831679317/ (above links from Seth Jones and more info in: http://www.mgexp.com/phorum/read.php?3,2472130) The Atlantis was new to me yesterday on talking to the owner of an MG Midget for sale in Northern Ireland. The car has a Ford Anglia rear axle and panhard rod conversion installed and did have a Ford Crossflow and 4 speed gearbox, inspired by the Atlantis conversion; the red Midget http://www.tsccni.info/classified/cars-for-sale/ Apparently this can count as a period modification for some forms of motorsport - important for which class a car runs in. Looks like could be a great starting point for anyone wanting to build an Atlantis replica (or a K Series conversion?) Cheers Mike |
