The company is called hufaker... Or something like that...let me do some looking and ill get back with you...

Btw... This isnt good for a street car ... Pretty much for the track ... The rose hymn joints just cant handle the long term street driving abuse

Rubber boots over the rose joints keeps road grit out and increases life.

I thought Huffaker initially but when I had a look yesterday the image is quite different to that shown on the Huffaker site.

Peter May does a bolt on link to support the lever arm.Worked well for me about 10 years.

Just had another look... Davids correct... Im not sure where those tubular wishbones came from .. ive seen them before

You might try barry king wishbones...he makes a nice high performance primium wish bone and the peter may link that steve mentioned would make a good suspention set up

I think there's a picture in a book with stuff in of a tubular wishbone arrangement.

I'm running Barry King bottom wishbones @ 2.5 degrees -ve camber and they transform the car. He's not making them any more but has a few sets left..

triangulating the top makes a big difference as well, however it's done.

but that looks like a well made home designed setup in the first post.
Rob Armstrong

No way!!!

Barry is done with wishbones...GEZ, looks like i got mine just in time, that is truely sad...i guess he just got old

He's still making the strengthened standard camber ones, so plenty of those to play with! Just not the negative camber ones.
Rob Armstrong

Prop,
How well do the Barry King wishbones work at speed? ;o}
P Burke

Hey phil,

I drove them from the post office to home in my work truck at 75 mph they seemed to hold on to the seat pretty good...beyound that there still sitting in a box in my coat closet with other parts to be installed

Ah... Yes i did hear that he was no longer making the 2 degree off set wishbones... So good to know he is still making wishbones

Rob,

What tyres are you using as I found with 165/70 13s -2 degrees gave even tyre wear but with 185/60 13s the inside of the tyre wore excessively. Maybe I wasn't driving hard enough most of the time though. I think when the car is back on the road I may drop back to -1 to -1.25 degrees if I keep to the 185/60s.
David Billington

all OK so far on 175s. No strange wear, it's actually better now 'cos it used to chew the outsides of the fronts slightly with the standard geometry.

I'll have to see after the summer mind, but I'm keeping an eye on them.

Hi, just noticed this on Ebay and wondered what the general consensus was?

It seems to use the deactivated lever arm shock as additional support whilst incorporating the telescopic damper.

Mark Whitmore

not seen that before. would 'fix' the damping but not the location issues, is fairly cheap but who knows where the dampers have come from? They look like 13 pound mini ones..
Rob Armstrong

Mark,

I haven't seen that before but was told of a mod of that type, bolting to the top of the damper to take the telescopic loads, back in the 1980s and it was known to suffer from failures. I can't say if that specific design you gave a link to is the same as back in the 1980s as information was a bit more difficult to obtain then and I was only given a verbal description. A well known US company also seemed to have problems with their lower damper pick-up as it was cantilevered from the side of the lower wishbone and put bending stresses on the side of the wishbone leading to fatigue cracking.
