MG Midget and Sprite Technical - midget soft top

Hi can anyone please help,i purchased a 76 midget in a bit of a state 3 years ago,and after a lot of panel replacing including complete floor and sills, its now in paint and i am starting to fit up,it came with a new hood but i dont know where to start or even if its the right one for the car as the doors wont shut as the sides hang over a bit, can anyone please help with fitting instructions.

The new hood I put on came with more instructions for repackaging for returning it than it did for installation. I marked measured and marked the center with chalk, then did some test stretches with a partner with the rear part installed and snapped in place. One we had the spot that we liked we marked the entire leading edge with the chalk at the line where it will fold over the frame. With the frame at "half mast" we carefully glued the frame to the leading edge of the hood using the chalk mark as a guide. After that was dry the rail that holds the front seal was replaced with the rubber bump thingies. I installed mine pretty tight and could just manage to close it after installation. It has become much easier over a month or two.

I'm not sure what you mean by the sides hanging over or the doors not being able to close. The only part that I can think of that would interfere would be the tabs that snap on the inside of the windscreen frame.

I hope this helps. Good luck! CJ
