MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Mk3 - disk brakes.
My new midget Mk3 is in immaculate condition and has a full professional service history for the past 10 years. On checking the front disks I find that there are no anti-squeal shims or pad retaining springs fitted. Could this be a recent modification that is not in the book? |

LOL - people make all sorts of modifications ...! Ask the previous owner, they would know, and, to be honest, that's going to be the best way, as everyone else can just speculate Sounds very nice - photos are always welcome ;) |

Antisqueal shims are a bit of a rarity on a Spridget, although I would expect you to have the spring retainers. |

hi j e I'd be a little worried with no springs.. the pads will move around too much in the calipers and are there to keep them lined up with the pistons. |

What are the shape of the pads backing plates, do they have the split pin holes in them as I've seen on Mini's etc. Just a thought. A. |

If it's not got these http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?ty=pb&pid=36500&title= then it needs them |
