MG Midget and Sprite Technical - More newby questions- throttle & choke cables etc
Hi all, sorry to trouble you but as a newby to midgets , I get good information that I can understand here. OK just to check- the throttle cable should have no slack? so that as soon as you move the pedal, the throttle linkage starts to move, whilst the choke cable should have a little slack in it so that when the choke cable is pulled, there is a little slack before the choke linkage moves? second question - can anyone tell me how to set up the carbs PROPERLY for basic operation before I try to balance them- I'm a bit confused to be honest! Either if anyone can tell me OR point me to an idiots guide , that would be great.( I do have the Haynes & others but need a real playskool level guide! ) Thanks all Cheers colin |

Colin, Cables sound OK. For instructions on setting up take a look at the Burlen SU technical bulletin pages: http://www.sucarb.co.uk/Technical.aspx |

after that have a look at this for principals and of course in the Driver's Handbook (which is not a workshop manual like Haynes) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nvGLgO6pj0&list=FLr4Udxf9e9Cq7fxH4V23MWQ&index=31&feature=plpp_video |
