MG Midget and Sprite Technical - New Diff/Halfshaft Development
Following demand from a trials midget owner for better half shafts to go with his 'Fack' diff that uses 22 teeth output splines from the Ford 'English'axle, I have now got steel wheel half shafts and Limited Slip Differential for Midgets/Sprites with 22 splines. The half shafts could also be used in Mallocks, or any other car where the BMC axle has been converted to use the stronger Ford diff. Sorry for the unashamed plug!, full details will soon be on the website. Kim Magic Midget |

I am currently starting to build a trials midget for my sons. Am I correct in assuming these will fit the Tran-X diff sold by quaife for the midget /sprite? ( Julian Fack no longer supplies his diffs as the design was lost to Quaife when they took over Tran-X)These are available in 10,22 or 23 spline. How do these compare in price/strength with the standard comp half shafts? Dave |

Hi Dave, Yes these will fit the Fack/Quaife units with the 22 teeth output, The shafts are heat treated EN26 with the large taper fit flange/ lock nut arrangement. Give me a ring/e-mail ref pricing. The LSD is manufactured by 3J Driveline (Dan Jones, ex Tran-X) and is an improved /updated version of the Tran-X unit. |
