MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Nissan/Datsun tranmission oil type?

I've had the Japanese transmission in my midget for over 15 years...but for the life of me cannot recall what oil it uses. It's not leaking but I think it might be time to change it simply due to its age. My box is a Type 60 out of a Datsun 210.

Thanks!

I use semi synthetic gearbox oil. I can't remember the grade but I'm sure that a call to rivergate will yeald an answer. They always seem to be very helpful.

I used the multi grade ...something like 85-105 esp

You're welcome.

This is discussed before and there was a strong bias towards an oil called redline or something like that. Maybe someone can enlighten us on that point. It should provide the smoothest gearchange ever on these tranny's
