MG Midget and Sprite Technical - No n/s indicators
Need some help here, fired up the midget(67 1275) this morning, to go for a spin, and the n/s indicators had ceased to work,(nothing front or back and no dash repeater) the o/s works fine as does all the other electrics, with the ignition on and the indicator switch up(n/s) i have power at the 3 way connector(green and red wire)at the top of the drivers A post, i asume this is where the wire splits to go to the front and rear of car,so Ive ruled out any problem with the actual switch, it cant be the flasher unit as the o/s is ok,not really sure where to go from here, and i was getting cold!!any ideas anybody as i would like to fix this tomorrow if possible, electrics arent my strong point hence this post. Hi Martin Not meaning to sound rude but have you checked your fuses are seated properly? On my midget I had issues with the headlight, indicators and brake lights on one side of the car not working as they should, it turned out to be a fuse that was not seated properly in the fuse box. Hopefully it will be something really simple! Rylan |

That sounds very strange Had you not checked the green/red wire then I would immediately suggeste that the switch was faulty but as you state this test confims the switch is fine. So what else can be wrong? Well bulbs? strange all fail at the same moment? highly unlikely!! Well all the earths fail? Again unlikely I mailtain the switch must be faulty and somehow your test is flawed. Try running a live temporary wire to that point and see if the winkers light up |

Bob, Forgot to add i did run a temp. live feed to that connector and NOTHING!!last time i used car(3 weeks ago all was fine)Im completly baffled, hopefully someone can put their finger on it!!Martin.PS All fuses are secure. |

OK then mate please then measure if you are getting power at theely idicator itself (IE the other end of the wire) this will test the bulb, lamp connections and earths or alternatively simply run your temporary power wire to the green and red tracer wire at the indicator to test the same. Simple stuff really |

Wot a plonker!!!!!!!!can you believe i had put 2 6v bulbs in that side, and they had both blown, cant beleive they lasted so long!!why didnt i check the obvious first, just thought it too much of a coincidence to have 2 bulbs go together. More haste less speed. Drive safe Martin. |
