MG Midget and Sprite Technical - One small step
A small step for man, but a bit of a milestone for me. My midget sailed thorugh the MOT yesterday, after an extensive recommission / light restoration over the course of the last year. Just a final bit of painting of the underside before it hits the road to get some miles on it before winter - fingers crossed on the weather. So thanks to those in the technical section who have helped me out with my questions (to date!). DH2 |

Congratulations. Enjoy puuting miles on the car |

well done many great driving days in winter and regular use will keep the car better and justify your work more plus of course the fun of driving the car so don't dismiss winter, or late autumn or early spring |

Thanks. I hear what you say Nigel, but the amount of salt that goes down on the roads these days is rediculous. These things are constant battle with rust, and my Midget won't take much more patching before it needs a re-shell, and I don't want to do either any time soon having just spent a lot of time/money/energy getting it into a solid useable state. Load up on the underseal each winter. Simonize works for me, keeps the salt at bay. |

yeap load up with underseal, waxoyl and polish/wax and wash when possible being in central England I'm lucky as until and even including the last 2 winters there are many, many days or part days when salt hasn't been put down or is no longer a problem I keep threatening to record how many good driving days there are between October and April as that's when my mate and many others SORN their cars can't be bothered though but what a start it would be this year remember 1st of October temperature |
