MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Oselli inlet manifold on ebay
Hi Guys, seen an old Oselli Torquemaster inlet manifold on ebay, there is a side view on the listing and the angle looks shallow at just under 15 degrees. What do you think about an HIF44 bolted to this clearing the underside of the bonnet on a 72 1275 midget? Regards, Tony |

I think the theory that the mounting angle of the carb is the dominant factor is wrong. A few diagrams and a compass will show that it can only make a few mm difference - even with the curvature of the bonnet. I believe its far more important what the relative mounting height of the carb to the head is. Its this latter one where the Titan is a visible improvement over most. (its also why the middle manifold studs are a bit of a pain because the manifold is low enough to impede easy access) I would say the Oselli manifold mounts the carb at least 10mm over the titan. A 1 1/4" opening would also need a good deal of opening to the 1 3/4" required for a HIF44 (note - some Titans themselves need opening from 1 1/2" also) |

Hi, thanks for your comments. As the Titans are thin on the ground, I was also looking at the Moss manifold listed for 'late sprite & midget" (as well as the mini) under MT3603.(£42.85) Does anyone know if these fit? Regards, Tony |
