MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Paddy Hopkirk pedal
Just bought a midget 1500 accelerator pedal for my Mk I Midget to replace the organ pedal that I am not particularly happy with. Will a Paddy Hopkirk pedal extension fit the 1500 pedal? Tore |

I doubt it... The Paddy Hopkirk pedal was meant for Minis - I put one on my Mini 1000 in 1984, made it go much faster...;-) |

yes it probably will; there's not a huge difference between a 1500 Midget pedal and the original Mini one... |

David, there is... the pad on the original Mini pedal was tiny. It could probably be made to fit though |

I use them on both my Sprites, no they don't fit, but it's quite easy to make them fit. They don't make the cars go any quicker but are a nice size for my feet. |

If the pedal makes your car quicker, be sure to paint your calipers bright red or yellow to make it stop faster. ;) |

Trouble is Iīve only got drum brakes on my 61 Midget :-) I have a Paddy Hopkirk pedal on my 63 MGB, and it is very comfortable and makes heel and toeing much easier. The original MGB pedal is just as tiny as the Mini one. So why donīt I just take the Hopkirk pedal off the MGB and try it on the Midget pedal? Because the MGB is still locked up for the winter, and the Midget pedal from eBay has not arrived yet... Tore |
