MG Midget and Sprite Technical - PCV valve
Hello All, I have recently installed a newly reconditioned PCV valve to my 1275 midget. After I drive down a steep hill (the one I live on) there is a large plume of blue smoke when I next accelerate. This does not happen when the crankcase is vented to the atmosphere, only when the PCV valve is connected. I was thinking of fitting a restrictor inside the breather hose to reduce the amount of suction. Do you think this will work, or should I try something else? Thanks, Peter |

I may have found the answer to my own question... Opened up the reconditioned valve - the spring looks like it was cut from a longer spring and maybe a bit stiff. What are the correct dimensions for the PCV valve spring? |

I would suggest to clean / replace the oilfiller cap. When this one is blocked oil is sucked into the PCV. Also open the PCV to see if oil is in, if no your piston rings could cause the fumes |
